To support conversations and school improvement plans around survey results, a variety of tools and guides have been developed and are accessible from this webpage. Click on the headings below to access files and additional pages. This powerpoint presentation walks through a method for narrowing the focus of the survey data at the school level. It suggests the use of specific tools, templates, and examples throughout the process which all be located at this same webpage. It also explains where school level data can be accessed on this website along with a method for its analysis. This document provides the tools, handouts and item propmts for educators to use while engaging in meaningful and safe discussions about ways to address and ultimately improve the teaching conditions in their schools. It is intended to be used with the Facilitator's Presentation. This document provides additional directions, resources and clarity for the research data and activities included in the Facilitator’s Guide. This and the Facilitator’s Guide are only for the facilitator(s) and the leadership team. Participants do not need a copy. Read this guide at least a week before you begin the process. This document should be given to every participant. This is where they will be working with the data, recording their thoughts and processing the activities. This tool is designed to begin the drilldown process into school level data. It contains one strongly representative question from each of the eight constructs. This gives the participant an initial snapshot of their data and functions as a beginning step to choosing a specific construct for deeper analysis. For more detailed examination of constructs, a series of Construct Item Worksheets have been provided. Each Construct Item Worksheet lists all of the questions contained in the construct and provides a graphic organizer for processing survey results. This tool is designed to help participants narrow their focus to a single question within one of the constructs. In collaborative settings, finding a common starting point can sometimes be challenging. To assist with this process, a series of discussion prompts were created for each of the survey questions to provide participants with a starting point to begin productive conversations. The prompts are designed to target conversations around the specific item of focus and to encourage critical thinking about the factors influencing that condition across the school. An Item Prompt Discussion Record has also been provided here to capture the thoughts of group conversations in the form of a graphic organizer. |
